What Bolshevik!
Attending my Tuesday night course the other evening reminded me why I originally became a libertarian. I know hate is a strong word, but I sincerely, truly, absolutely despise Marxism, Karl Marx, Bolshevism, and every other variant of state-socialism with the most powerful disdain.
Now, I don’t want to appear too reactionary, so let me make a note, though I would not today call myself a socialist flippantly or even lightly throw the word around in general, I do not object to socialism per se - at least not when used in association with men like Pierre-Joseph Proudhon or Benjamin Tucker; however, many of those that draw on people like Karl Marx, usurping the very word “socialism,” possess neither the intelligence of rats, nor the strikingly handsome features.
That being said, however, for all you Marxists out there, grow up. Marxism is dead. The Labour Theory of Value is dead - or at least replaced by a Subjective Labour Theory of Value. Das Kapital, dead. Bolshevism, dead. Marxist class theory, dead. Every thing Marx did, everything Marx said, has either been disproven or replaced. If you’re a Marxist or a Trotskyist, you’re following a dead philosophy; you’re speaking in a dead tongue and no one understands you.
I am so sick of sociology professors and students - who serve what purpose towards producing any wealth for society again? - believing that they’re somehow “ahead of the curb” or “edgy” for advocating a system that’s not only been disproven theoretically, but empirically as well; really, you’d think that to be edgy, you’d have to at least not be 80 years behind the curb. And don’t give me that junk about the Soviet Union not being “true Marxism,” either.
Look, people. Why continue to follow state-socialism when Anarchism is such a better alternative? Really! It just doesn’t make sense. Not only are Anarchists consistent, but we’re growing too - especially in the left libertarian realm! Why continue to back a losing horse like Karl Marx? Does he really look like he can run?
After all, you’re not doing the workers any good by being wrong - and especially not when you advocate the state, the single greatest exploiter of workers.
