A General Strike?

At CounterPunch the other day, Manuel Garcia Jr. made a wonderful point asking:

Why not have a general strike?

I think this, in fact, is a fantastic idea; moreover, I would certainly love to see a resurgence of Anarcho-Syndicalism - and an alliance of it with the strategy of Agorism. Indeed, it is absolutely a necessity that we, as the producing class, band together against the parasites that wish to feed off our common life blood.

At the same time, however, it is totally necessary that the brunt of this “strike” does not fall on the shoulders of the workers - especially not just union workers. Though the workers are of course a major part of our class consciousness, striking true fear into the capitalist class requires much more - it requires a complete and total absolution of all avoidable state interaction in the form of massive tax evasion and insurgent-like resistance against the agents of the parasites themselves.
